The Church of the Ascension is the “gateway” to the Linwood Preservation District. The neighborhood dates from the early 1820′s and was and continues to be primarily a residential neighborhood. In 1978, the Buffalo Preservation Board established the Linwood Preservation District to preserve the character of the neighborhood buildings.
